The L'Attitudes
Collection is made from a bamboo product called
Plyboo™,
a sustainably harvested, eco-friendly material. L'Attitude
pieces are finished with Tried & True
Danish Oil, which is a non-toxic natural linseed oil product.

Nakashima-Influenced
Original Designs
We are widely known as skilled
crafters of natural slab furniture in the style
and methods true to the spirit of George Nakashima.
We don't pretend to reproduce the works of
this great master woodworker. Rather, we are influenced
by the elegant simplicity of his works – how
he captured the soul of the tree from which it
was derived. We strive to capture his style, spirit
and craftsmanship in the pieces we produce. Each
is one-of-a-kind, and like Nakashima's works, driven
by the influence nature has exerted on the woods
we choose.
Our wide-rangeing
inventory of unusual and one-of-a-kind solid
slabs are a variety of domestic and imported exotic
hardwoods, from African Bubinga to Zebrawood, American
Black Walnut burls to Lace Redwood, from Mexican
Parota crotch to Cocobolo logs. Our inventory changes
often as we build custom pieces for customers,
and new slabs arrive monthly.

Project
Macassar Ebony Bench
Custom Commission Project
Occasionally a project comes along
that requires all
our experience and creativity along with a healthy
dose of ingenuity to produce something truly
incredible. Such an opportunity came our way this
past summer in the form of a conceptual design
by Arthur Porras, ASID, Associates, one of San
Diego's top interior design firms. This contemporary
bench of macassar ebony and anodized aluminum was
designed for the La Jolla home of the CEO of one
of San Diego's high tech companies.
Tassajara had overall responsibility
for fabrication, including raw material selections,
mechanical design and machining of all metal components.
Several design challenges were overcome, most
notable being the appearance that each half
of the bench was
created from a solid macassar ebony log.
